The individual detachments of the Marine Corps League take on a life of their own. Once incorporated under the umbrella of the Congressionally Chartered National Marine Corps League 501 (C)(3) status, they become a full functioning 501 (C)(4)-1 Veteran Non-Profit Organization. Every incorporated detachment thereof has the same tax exemptions and deductibility status as parent 501 (C)(3) charitable organization.
Provides scholarship grants to qualified individuals
Provides aid to the homeless veterans in the detachments area. There are an estimated 40,000 plus homeless veterans in the US in 2018
Mimics the VFW poppy programs to provide funds to the detachment to assist veterans and youth and provide other services to the community Aid
Recognizes and awards the Marine Corps Leagues Good Citizenship Award to scout who have earned the rank of Eagle.

Any detachment within the Marine Corps League can request ceremonial rifles and blank ammunition for use with color guards, parades, burials details etc.
The Americanism award is Nationally recognized by Marine Corps League and booklets are submitted annually to National for the detachment that most exemplifies its dedication and contribution to the Community.
State and National Competitions are held annually that test the physical fitness of schools in your detachments area. Awards, Plaques and Certificates are handed out at all levels of competition from kindergarten all the way to college
Awards excellence in the form of certificates, plaques and items symbolizing the Marine Corps and awards from the Marine Corps League.
Provides assistance to Marine, FMF Navy Corpsman, FMF Navy Chaplains in the detachments area for vehicle repairs, rent assistance, utility assistance and other bills at the detachments discretion.
The Program is supported by the detachment as well as organizations within the community.. Annually detachments are involved with the Toys for Tots program and successfully collect cash, toys and bikes.
Community Service Projects are things that benefit the community. We support emergency disasters with donated funds to Veterans that have suffered a disaster. We have a dedicated disaster relief funds setup for this effort. Not only do we support with funds, but with water, food, clothing, and we collect for any effort that is required.
